Clinically led, high strength anthocyanidin formula
Lamberts® Maximum Strength Colladeen® provides a particularly rich source of anthocyanidins (plant flavonoids) from the extracts of grapeseed and bilberries. Our formula is complete with the addition of vitamin C, thus supporting normal collagen formation and the normal functioning of blood vessels, cartilage, and skin.
Natural plant anthocyanidins are a group of components found in dark skinned fruits, berries and even pine bark. Scientists studying these particular plant compounds have focused much of their work on the role they play in helping to support collagen. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and it is the protein that forms connective fibres in tissues such as skin, ligaments, cartilage, muscles and capillaries. There are many health problems that can result from compromised or weakened collagen, including worn joints, easy bruising and non-medical fluid retention resulting from 'leaky' capillary walls.
Research indicates that anthocyanidins can help to reinforce and protect the body's collagen. Whilst dark skinned fruits certainly provide a dose of anthocyanidins, the level is not sufficient to produce a desired effect, in line with the literature. In formulating both of our Colladeen® products, we have used a level of anthocyanidins that reflects this research. In fact, Lamberts® Maximum Strength Colladeen® is still the most potent anthocyanidin formula available, providing a full 160mg of anthocyanidins (naturally derived from extracts of grapeseed and bilberries) per tablet.
