DESCRIPTION
Palmetto Complex II with Lycopene provides 320 mg of high quality, standardised saw palmetto extract per serving (2 softgels), as well as beta-sitosterol, the major active principle in pygeum, zinc, lycopene, and a generous portion of pumpkin seed oil.
Palmetto Complex II provides nutrients important for the function of the prostate gland which may contribute to a regulating effect of endogenous hormones on the prostate gland.
Saw palmetto berry extract may contribute to healthy prostate function.
Beta-sitosterol is a sterol, a plant fat (“phytosterol”) that closely resembles cholesterol. Phytosterols have been studied for decades and much is known about them. Beta-sitosterol may contribute to a balanced immune system, healthy cholesterol and blood sugar balance.
Zinc is necessary for the functioning of over 300 different enzymes, playing a crucial role in many biological processes. In the male reproductive system, the epithelial cells of the prostate gland accumulate higher zinc levels than any soft tissue in the body, and zinc is necessary for the development of sperm.
Zinc has an inhibitory effect on the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) through its influence on the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase.
