L-Glutamine is a non-essential amino acid. Non-essential amino acids can be produced naturally by the body from other amino acids however under circumstances such as times of stress or illness, the body may not be able to produce as much l-Glutamine as is required. This is when supplementation can be useful.
L-Glutamine is involved in numerous metabolic processes within the body. Our muscles use l-Glutamine as an important source of fuel for muscle contraction. This is why many personal trainers recommend taking a supplemental form of l-Glutamine either pre or post training to ensure that l-Glutamine levels are not depleted, thereby aiding the natural recovery of muscles post exercise.
The cells of the gastrointestinal tract lining are one of the biggest users of l-Glutamine, using it as a source of energy for building and functioning properly. L-Glutamine is often used by those requiring support for a healthy gut lining.
L-Glutamine is a prescursor to glutathione, often known as the "master antioxidant" - an incredibly powerful molecule that is able to recycle other antioxidants, as well as protect cells from oxidative damage.
This product provides 500mg of this important amino acid in each capsule, allowing easy and flexible dosing. The dosage can be increased or decreased as desired.
2 capsules one to three times daily, half an hour before meals, or as directed.
