Supplies 50mcg each of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and Catalase from raw vegetable culture per tablet.

Dismuzyme Plus™ supplies Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) and catalase from Biotics Research Corporation's proprietary vegetable culture.

Free radicals cause biological damage, generally by oxidative processes. SOD is the primary enzymatic free radical scavenger in humans. It functions to convert superoxide radicals to hydrogen peroxide and oxygen. Likewise, catalase converts hydrogen peroxide to oxygen and water, and therefore complements the activity of SOD.

These activities are a crucial part of the cellular antioxidant defense mechanism, and by virtue of this function, these compounds play a role in moderating the aging process.
